 CHARACTERISTICS OF SPORTS MASSAGE.

DEFINITION OF SPORTS MASSAGE.

• This type of massage is focused on the active recovery of the locomotor system both in anatomical and physiological aspects.

• We must bear in mind the difference in technical crafts that are developed when an athlete has an injury to which he only recovers from physical activity.

• We must know and differentiate the stages of the training system, in addition to knowing in depth the sport that is practiced.

• Looking and Seeing is not enough, many times it would be advisable to practice it, in order to feel its experience.

CHARACTERISTICS OF SPORTS MASSAGE

• Sports massage differs from conventional massage in that the latter is more superficial and does not affect the specific muscle groups used in each sporting activity.

• Sports massage should be used as part of the training program and is an excellent muscle conditioner that favors warming up, stretching or relaxation depending on whether we apply it before, during or after training or competition.

• It helps us to better assess the most overloaded areas in order to remedy before an injury appears.

• Relieves pain and muscle spasms.

• They loosen muscle adhesions and soften old injury scars.

• Increases muscle elasticity and joint flexibility, stimulates blood and lymphatic circulation, eliminates toxins that cause muscle pain and stiffness and psychologically intervenes in the relaxation mechanisms of both the body and the mind.

• Sports massage is an effective weapon to keep muscles healthy and elastic, contributing to the prevention of muscle contractures, elongations and tears.

THE PRE COMPETITIVE MASSAGE

• It will be carried out 30 to 90 minutes before the sports event, whose objective will be to promote blood circulation, increase circulation, preparation of the muscles for the effort to be carried out, techniques and crafts to be carried out;

Effleurrage.

Friction.

Tapotement.

All these crafts are quick and superficial, this indicated to promote circulation and improve the response of the nervous system.

Goals 45 minutes before:

• Stimulate the musculoskeletal apparatus.

• Stimulate the Nervous System.

• Delay the onset of Fatigue in long-term efforts.

• Allowing quick and abrupt efforts without danger of accidents creates an intense need for action.

THE INTRA COMPETITIVE MASSAGE

• It will be applied for a period of 5 to 10 minutes between sets or rest periods, with the aim of mobilizing the tension or muscle contracture produced by the development of the test, the maneuvers to be performed will not have a complete discharge objective only to improve circulation for this the techniques will be;

Effleurage

Petrissage.

Tapotement.

• This massage aims to eliminate and drain all toxic substances from the body, recovering the;

• Motivility

• Motor skills

THE POST COMPETITION MASSAGE

• It will be carried out after 45 to 60 minutes of the test, in it we will apply all the variants of the techniques and crafts that are required for the physical recovery of the athlete,

Effleurage

Petrissage

Friction

Tapotement.

• This Massage's main objective is to recover the anatomical and physiological functions of the organism, for example; drain all toxic substances such as the increase in lactatic acid due to fatigue.

• The duration of the massage should include a time of 30 minutes in the lower extremity.

Legs Athlete's Position; Prone then supine each variant will be; 15 minutes Dividing this into each right and left 7.5 minutes right, it is subdivided 3.5 minutes we must, go through each extremity at least twice. THE HUMAN FUNCTIONAL AND INTEGRATIVE MECHANICS.

WEIGHTLIFTING.

• An athlete of level: Basic, medium or advanced apart from the development of the qualities; physical motor and psychological, requires a support group for the maintenance and prevention of injury or dysfunctions of the locomotor system. The effort of sports practice demands great wear and tear on the body.

• The most recurrent cases are of the extremities and spinal column, more involved as it is a sport of great physical and mental effort, soft tissue injuries will be varied, starting with epitrocleitis, patellar tendinopathies, contusions, tears in the lower and upper limb, some From this we can give output in the training room such as sprain, fingers and neck, and of course problems at the lumbar spine level.

• As long as we have the right material, such as a small health area with a suitable stretcher, we can do a good job.

• Carrying out in the first instance a good physical examination and determining the level of the injury, in order to be able to carry out the correction with the application of Sports massage.

• There are two marked effects of the Massage, one is mechanical and the other reflex that can be produced together or separately.

MECHANICAL EFFECTS.

• Are those that are applied directly to the surface of soft tissues in a physical way

• The massage intervenes in the reabsorption of the interposition liquids of the circulatory system.

• The lacunar water pressed by the masseur passes from the tissues to the blood.

• These then is not a fantasy, it is common to observe in mechanical edema produced by deficiency states, endocrine insufficiency, kidney disorders, etc.

• The disappearance of these states will be due to the effects of the crafts and massage techniques, in a good session where the chiropractor must apply all his Knowledge and Doing.

REFLECTION EFFECTS.

• These are the response produced by the autonomic nervous system as in the case of the connective tissue massage.

• The reflex reactions in the circulation, many times it is local in the arterioles, by excitation of the walls of the vessels, such as the chromaffin cells of Cannon that secrete adrenaline.

• Simple, axonal reflexes, whose stimulation is not integrated at the upper level and the sensory index does not follow either the axon or the axis cylinder, but returns immediately through the fibers, distributing through the vessel, which triggers an appropriate vasomotor response.

HUMORAL ACTION.

It was the researcher Th. Lewis who first demonstrated that any excitation of the skin released an indeterminate tissue hormone, substance H, which, like histamine, causes a true vasodilation of the capillaries. According to Walter Ruhmann, the substance released on the skin under the influence of massage is very similar to choline, it would particularly stimulate the Parasympathetic system.

• Dale affirmed that any skin nervous excitation would make the acetylcholine appear, which produces vasodilation, acetylcholine in the skin will obtain the analogous hyperemia observed in the case of massage-shower. In the opinion of physiologists, the choline released by massage makes its action felt deep down at the level of the skeletal muscles, decreasing its tone when increased by fatigue or injury.

CONCLUSION

• We must conclude that the skin is one of the most important organs, and not just be qualified as the outer shell.

• It is an organ whose vascularization, excitability and metabolism should not be mobilized or manipulated in an erroneous or empirical way, since profound disorders can occur with consequences and influences at a general level.

• The Massage with its action at the level of vasomotrocity, due to its effects, mechanical, nervous, humoral, are configured with an effective method to be used in the physical and muscular recovery of people, by the chiropractor.

PSYCHOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF MASSAGE BEFORE EFFORT.

• The psychological effect of the Massage.

• We must know how to guide our clients with an appropriate motivational talk to show that it is a group of people with a common goal in the case of a team to show the qualities, not the shortcomings, that we will work on in other instances.

• In the case of an individual athlete, this aspect must be constantly promoted.
